Great White was the first band I saw and like last year they were really good with Terry singing. They played all the hits, except for one of my faves, Mista Bone! :( but they were really good.
Saw Stryper, not my thing but they were decent. I was jealous of those who got a free bible since I collect them and a Stryper one would be awesome!
LA Guns was awesome as usual. Met them all after, I LOVE SCOTTY GRIFFIN! They’re all great though.
Dokken was decent, although like last time, Don’s voice is shot. He sounds good on the low notes, just doesn’t hit anything remotely high up. Jon Levin kicks ass.
Warrant was good, but I think my favorite time I saw them was the first time (I’ve seen them three times). They did WAY too many new songs for my taste.
The Lynch Mob meet and greet was so rushed because they were late and RATT wanted their meet and greet slot so when I got there, Robbie Crane seemed unaware of this and was chatting up a storm with everyone/taking pics (He’s so nice!!!) but so that then the festival runners were then rushing everything else and George was last so I can hardly say I “met” him although I got his autograph on my laminate (more on that later). Also a little later I randomly remembered those gay pictures of Robbie and Bret Michaels from Sludge so I giggled that I met him XP
The RATT meet and greet though….so many emotions/feels. It was a long line and they basically told us no posed pictures, I think to hurry it up as well as possible diva requests from the band, although I think it was the former. When I get there Bobby was the first one and he was like “Well HELLO there! How are you?” LOL. So I said hello and what not and asked him how he was doing and he’s like “Better now that you’re here!” oh dear. So we chatted a bit about the set list and blah blah and I actually liked him, he was friendly. From all the gossip I’ve heard about him/his book/just his face I was expecting not to like him, but yeah. Stephen and Juan both were just signing things (everyone signed my laminate, although I had the RATT guys do the back, with the exception of Warren who signed right next to George!) and they didn’t interact with anyone. Divas lol. I mean it was a bit understandable since they were supposed to go on stage soonish and there were a lot of people, but still. Carlos was smiley and friendly but I didn’t really have anything to say to him. Warren was so precious oiasd;aijs;lfjd ljflsjd the smile! Since from the line I had seen a couple of people take pics with Carlos, and maybe Warren (it was hard to tell) I then was probably what seemed like an annoying douche and was like “I gotta break the rules and get a picture with you Warren, I’d only break the rules for you!” And he was perfectly happy to do so! SO my newly acquired claws clutched him and “took” the pic ( i pressed the button and was rushing but could’ve sworn I took at least two pictures) LOL NOPE. Of course I didn’t realize this until after. ROAR. But I told Warren he was the best guitarist ever, and I was like really emphatic about it (again, probably the annoying douche) so he repeated me and smiled. He was so precious!!! oh god the feels. I hate my camera and myself for not getting the picture. But it HAPPENED. This crazy bitch met Warren DeMartini!! So yeah out of RATT, Warren, Carlos, and Bobby are now my favorites because they were the friendliest.
Skid Row kicked fucking ass. I loved them. I still love Sebastian, but Johnny does a damn good job with vocals/frontman duties. Also the songs sound WAY better when played by the actual band. It was fun being in an actual crowd for that since the other bands I saw I was in the seats, so there was a ton of energy. I may have held hands/danced around with random strangers during I Remember You hahaha. It was a good time. RATT were also really fun live. Juan’s backing vocals add a lot since Stephen doesn’t do the high notes. They played majority Out of the Cellar/Invasion songs with Way Cool Jr. and Nobody Rides For Free thrown in.
Overall, good time!!!
