The elevator stopped and the doors slid open, Gene and Paul were ready for this, they knew people were watching. No one would ask why the Starchild was half naked. No one would question why the fake blood on Gene’s chest resembled Paul’s favorite shade of lipstick, Sex Kitten Red. No. They were safe, for now. They awkwardly shook hands and said their goodbyes, Paul clutching the bottle of Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider, while Chaim looked him dead in the eyes. Paul only had to glance up briefly to understand what Chaim’s glare meant. He was gonna get it real good tonight…
